| | Challenge. The City of Gridley, a rural community of 5,000 in Northern California, retained Chabin Concepts as their Economic Development Department.
Solution. Chabin implemented and managed a "Four-Point Program" for the city: - Acquisition & Development of an Industrial Park
- Business Attraction and Expansion
- Pacific Flyway Development
- Highway 99 Development & Beautification
Acting as staff, Chabin coordinated with other city departments to move forward on all initiatives: - Acquired 80-acre peach orchard, obtained grants for engineering, design and infrastructure improvements for Phase I Gridley Industrial Park
- Located two companies to Industrial Park, Year 1, potential 150 jobs
- Applied for grant/loans for infrastructure improvements, Phase II
- Negotiated development of spec buildings
- Received CALED Partnership Award for Development
- Prepared design and plan for Pacific Flyway Visitor Center and Viewing Facility at Gray Lodge
- Received two grants for preparation on Highway 99 Streetscape Plan
- Assisted five company expansions and three new locations
- Initiated a Business Incubator Program without walls for small business in Gridley.
