Challenge. Shasta EDC, in Northern California, needed a new executive director. Knowing this process would take some time, the board of directors wanted an interim director that could not only manage the day-to-day work but provide leadership, manage marketing campaigns, continue recruiting businesses and oversee enterprise zone contracts.
Solution. Chabin president, Audrey Taylor, was appointed interim director, on a part-time basis, during the eight-month search for a new director. She worked with Shasta EDC staff and partner organizations to facilitate and initiate several projects - Prospects - Brought in 13 new prospects representing over 1,000 potential jobs - 1 project in escrow.
- Workforce - Supported Workforce Initiative with the Shasta Workforce Development.
- Marketing - Created new sales materials promoting why administrative-back office operations.
- Reporting - Initiated new reporting procedures.
- Calls - Implemented new business call program and marketing campaign.
