Challenge. Washington State Business and Project Development is the primary contact for businesses seeking site location at the state level. The department desired a website that would be more responsive to business and site consultants' needs, serving as a 24-hour sales force and resource. Additionally, the state sought to improve its partnership with county-level agencies by driving requests to the counties.
Solution. The Chabin Team developed ChooseWashington.com, a new website that went live in November 2004. Features included:- Content Management System (CMS) enabling timely page edits.
- News Module linked to related pages.
- Location Search based on site location criteria.
- County Profiles that can be edited by the counties or state through the CMS.
- Industry Profiles that can be updated on demand.
- GIS Site and Building Inventory developed by GIS Planning.
