| | CR Group Plans to make Communities 'CompetitiveReady' | |

| | (September 2010) Chabin Concepts, Austin Consulting, EDsuite, and Applied Economics announced the formation of CR Group at the IEDC conference, Sept. 28, in Columbus, Ohio.
CR Group takes an integrated approach to community readiness, with input from site selectors as well as economic development professionals. This is an important distinction, because site selectors are the most discerning "customers" of economic development programs.
Through the CompetitiveReady Seal program, communities are assessed across a broad 10-category spectrum. Those locations that pass the rigorous test are awarded the CompetitiveReady Seal, proving to businesses and site locators that they have what it takes to support business.
Those that don't receive a high enough score are provided recommendations for improving their community readiness. The goal is to help communities prove their readiness to compete for business in the same way they can prove real estate readiness through certified sites.
CR Group offers three types of Scorecard assessments: - Asset Scorecard (10-categories of community assets)
- Industry Scorecard (readiness for specific industry)
- Comparative Scorecard (benchmarking against other communities)
