TeamCalifornia Going to Solar Power International 2008 (October 2008) TeamCalifornia is going to the Solar Power International 2008 conference, Oct. 13-16 in San Diego, Calif.  Audrey Taylor, Chabin president, serves as the marketing chair for TeamCalifornia. Taylor said California is the leading state on “going green” technologically and so this event hopes to connect California communities with companies. Logan County Hires Chabin (September 2008) Logan County, Ohio, has hired Chabin Concepts, Austin Consulting and Applied Economics to create an economic development roadmap that reduces the county’s local dependence on the auto industry. Presenting Website User's Study at OEDA Conference (September 2008) Chabin principal, Allison Larsen and Michelle Comerford of Austin Consulting will present the results of the 2008 Website User Study at the annual Oregon Economic Development Association Conference held in Silverton, Ore., Oct. 5-7.

The presentation will include the exploration of issues such as technology adaptation, attitudes toward special functions such as GIS mapping and videos and how the audience uses the date they find on website.

Audrey Taylor Keynotes Governor's Conference (April 2008) Chabin president Audrey Taylor delivered the keynote address at the South Dakota Governors Economic Development Conference, April 8. New and Innovative Ideas for Economic Development was the theme for the two-day event in Pierre, South Dakota.

Taylor addressed new and traditional challenges in responding to a site location request. With real world examples, she described how to respond competitively with little time or money.

Marketing Challenges: How You Can Overcome Them was the topic of her second presentation. She talked about global shifts affecting economic development marketing and presented a variety of methods to fine-tune the marketing tactics. [Download Marketing Challenges presentation (PDF, 768 KB)]
 
Galt Website Complete (January 2008) Chabin Concepts and EDsuite have completed an economic development website for the City of Galt, California. SSLC Market Analysis Complete (January 2008) The Chabin Team has completed a market analysis for South Sound Logistics Center (SSLC), in Washington. The main objective of the market analysis was to identify potential industries for SSLC and to calculate the corresponding financial impact of establishing a logistics center in the South Sound region of Washington State. IEDC Marketing Presentation (November 2007) Chabin president, Audrey Taylor, joined Kate McEnroe (Kate McEnroe Consulting), Anatalio Ubalde (GIS Planning) and John Reid (State of Oklahoma), Nov. 14-15, as faculty for the IEDC Marketing Course hosted by the Greater Oklahoma Partnership. Bowling Green Hires Chabin for Marketing Strategy. (August 2007) Chabin Concepts is preparing a marketing roadmap for South Central Kentucky under a contract with the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. Chabin principal, Allison Larsen, said the project will focus on promoting the Kentucky Transpark. Ultimately, Chabin will develop a full implementation guide, including recommended tools and collateral, key messages, tactics, schedule, and launch plan. Larsen said this supplements the impressive efforts already undertaken by the Bowling Green Area Chamber.
 
Marketing Roadmap for Northern Colorado. (August 2007) Audrey Taylor and Allison Larsen spent several days in Northern Colorado gathering information to develop a marketing roadmap for the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corporation. The strategy will chart a step-by-step approach for marketing the region, from messaging through scheduling.
 
Victor Valley wins Grand Prize. (May 2007 ) Victor Valley, California, was the Grand Prize winner in the California Association for Economic Development (CALED) awards announced May 2, 2007. Victor Valley won in the Economic Development Promotions Category for the marketing campaign and tools created by Chabin Concepts. [more]
