BACKGROUND: Sarah is a founding partner of Applied Economics. She holds a master's in economics and has over 20 years of experience in urban and regional economic analysis, particularly in economic development and public finance.

BACKGROUND: David’s responsive approach helps clients visualize transformation, and his drawings bring life to a new vision for existing spaces. David pays special attention to the integration of buildings, site and landscape to create compositions that achieve order and balance. Cost effectiveness is always part of the equation. We have partnered with DLA on several downtown and urban planning projects in Oregon and California.

BACKGROUND: Chabin often calls upon Don to help evaluate and determine the best uses for communities’ key commercial and industrial sites. Don is a former vice president at the Austin Company. In 2012 he founded DSG Advisors, a consulting practice that assists corporate clients with their location strategies and site selection. Don also worked with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. for more than a year to find the best location for their new eastern U.S. brewery.

Robert Eyler, Ph.D.

 

EXPERTISE: Economic and social data analyses, economic and community development.

 

BACKGROUND: Robert Eyler is president of Economic Forensics and Analytics (EFA). He is also Professor of Economics at Sonoma State University, California, and currently serves as the University’s Dean of Extended and International Education. His ability to explain economics in understandable language makes him a popular speaker. Dr. Eyler earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in 1998. He acted as CEO of the Marin Economic Forum from 2009-2015, a private-public partnership aimed at Marin County’s economic and community development. He has been a visiting scholar at both the University of Bologna and Stanford University.

Fawn McLaughlin

BACKGROUND: Fawn provides a creative, solution-oriented and inclusive approach to facilitating group discussions. She has 30 years of economic and community development experience; 25 years as principal and owner of FJMcLaughlin & Associates, 4 years as executive director of Stanislaus County Economic Development Corporation. She has chaired the Calaveras County Planning Commission, served as president of the Mokelumne Hill Community Historical Trust, and she is a licensed California real Estate broker (DRE 01439486).

She is an experienced community facilitator and has led over 50 training workshops on market analysis, business recruitment and retention, and business district planning for local and state economic development and Main Street organizations. Mary co-authored with the Oregon Downtown Development Association, Retail Market Analysis & Business Development Made Easy, a step-by-step workbook.

Thatch's background in land use planning and project management includes international and domestic projects for both private and public clients. The projects include master planning for districts and regions, office parks, industrial sites, retail centers, municipal facilities, and single-family and multi-family residential developments.
